Summary
| This event took place shortly before the end of the Cold War.After successfully completing the Jedi trials on Tython, Hero of Tython had been elevated from Padawan to the rank of full Jedi. At the request of Master Kiwiiks, the Jedi Council sent the Jedi Knight to Coruscant to investigate a dark presence they had sensed on the Republic's capital world. Accompanied by the astromech droid T7-01, the Jedi Knight departed Tython on a shuttle and traveled to Carrick Station, the headquarters of the Republic fleet, to board a shuttle to Coruscant. Upon arriving at Carrick Station, they decided to travel aboard the transport Esseles instead of the regular shuttle. En route to Coruscant, the transport was attacked by the Imperials, and Hero of Tython, along with T7 and other operatives, repelled the attack and saved the transport from being destroyed.Upon reaching the capital, the Knight and Teeseven registered their arrival at a customs station in the Coruscant Spaceport. The pair reported to Conference Room 2-Aurek in the Senate Tower, where Master Din, Master Kiwiiks, and Kira Carsen were in conversation with the General Var Suthra.Master Din introduced his former apprentice to the general and Doctor Eli Tarnis, who was involved in an argument with the two Jedi Masters about his invention, the Planet Prison superweapon. Tarnis explained to the new arrivals how the superweapon ionized a planet's atmosphere, a process which disabled any ships that tried to leave and safely blockaded the planet without loss of life. He stated that it was one of the most humane weapons ever created, and was annoyed that the Jedi had objections to both the weapon's existence and the fact that they had not been told of its creation. However, Kiwiiks had a more pressing objection - the design files had been stolen, and Tarnis was seemingly unconcerned about the security risks. Tarnis brushed off her protest, stating that the files were too encrypted for anyone to understand, but Var Suthra informed the Jedi that his agents had been searching tirelessly for the files.Before Din and Kiwiiks departed to meet with Supreme Chancellor Dorian Janarus, Din ordered his former apprentice to aid the Republic agents in the recovery of the files. Kiwiiks also left her Padawan with the Knight and Tarnis, and she suggested that Carsen's security expertise might be useful. | ||
